Don't want to make JR's head explode. . .

. . . but Luigi has a better OBP than Morgan or Sanchez.

And I’d love to see JR give McLouth a chance to lead off. I don’t have the stats (cause I’m way too lazy), but I believe he’s always hit better as a lead off hitter than batting 3rd (he had a HR last Sunday in his one lead off chance for 2009). McLouth is a paradigmatic 21st century kinda lead off hitter, while NyMo is a 1960’s-’70’s kinda lead off hitter.

Think Rickey Henderson vs. Matty Alou.

(Not that NyMo is anywhere near as good as NL silver bat holder Matty Alou.)

McLouth batting lead off — lifetime .821 OPS in 736 AB’s

McLouth batting 3rd — lifetime .755 OPS in 362 AB’s

I’d like to see how Duke matches up against Santana and how Andy LaRoche and Moss do against him but Game 3 beckons.

Hopefully the Bucs are on at least one tv.

I made most of my life decisions at a Foghat concert... I stand by them.

Moss

Halle-freakin’-lleujah!

But why is JR throwing him out there against

Santana?
Is he trying to undermine his confidence?

That was a joke, gang. Pay no attention to me.

If Moss goes 0-4, that means he doesn’t get to start against another LH until September.

“I gave him a chance. So there!” says JR.

Not particularly likely

Santana is a beast.

All the PBC’s got going for it is Luigi.

Mario’s OPS has gone down just a bit in June from May, historically. It’s July when it goes up .240 over June.

And Robizone can’t even get a start against the LH???

I don't know...

Grabow only threw 5 pitches…I might leave him in.

Can't happen

JR left strict instructions before starting his nap that Capps would pitch the 9th.

The coaches aren’t allowed to wake him up.

Across the Pacific in Japan,

John “Way Back” Wasdin just won his first game of the season for the Seibu Lions.

http://www.japanball.com/news.phtml?id=14516

And we’re dissatisfied with some of the ’pen personnel so far this season….

For those breathlessly awaiting a Ryan Vogelson update, he’s 0-1 with a 6.11 ERA in 15 games this year with the Orix Buffaloes.

http://bis.npb.or.jp/players/73375114.html

Yes, we’ve done worse over the year, much worse….
