Neal Huntington

With the Cleveland crowd constantly bashing Erik Wedge and Mark Shipiro, the overall poor play of the Indians for the second year in a row, and the lacking attendance at Progressive Field (~22k per game), it raises a question in my mind that I have not heard discussed.

How much longer is Cleveland going to stick with Wedge? And how much longer will they stick with Shipiro? Shipiro is generally heralded as a miracle worker but his shine has worn off in the last couple of years. I'm sure the 22,224 average home attendance average is severely impacting revenue. With a team salary of over $81.5 mm, I don't think the Indians will be patient for much longer.

Reason for the ramble? If Shipiro is dismissed, do you think Huntington will go home? Would he be the heir apparent to the Cleveland GM job? I never heard anyone ask Neal the question, probably because we all wondered if he will make it here, but I believe Huntington is starting to earn a good reputation as an up and coming general manager (at least I believe he is).

Interested in what you guys think...
