I stand corrected - Greinke scheduled for Sunday.

Tomorrow, the Royals are starting one “Bruce Chen” who hasn’t pitched since 2007…

Looking for some balance in the universe

Like the PBC AAA SP who’s just called up pitches 6 scoreless innings.

It could happen. :)

Hmmm. I hadn’t heard that D’Arnaud moved up to Lynchburg. Any chance of him being ML-ready by 2011?

I thought McCutchenis had a good Fanpost yesterday about watching D’Arnaud play at the Sally League All Star game. Some nice photos too (though none of D’Arnaud).

At least he’s throwing strikes and no nibbling around the plate right now like another pitcher i know lol

by lfhlaw on Jun 26, 2009 7:12 PM EDT reply actions

Well Vasquez is being hittable. KC has a 2-0 lead.
He needs something swing and miss.

by lfhlaw on Jun 26, 2009 7:28 PM EDT reply actions

Oh boy

It’s starting to look bad out there. Though leadoff walk looked like a K to me on LameDay.

by WstCstBucco on Jun 26, 2009 7:29 PM EDT reply actions

Watching the TV feed, so far all pitches have been like 89-90 mph like he doesn’t change speeds much.

and what a weird double play. Is that like 2 nights in a row with the odd double play?

by lfhlaw on Jun 26, 2009 7:30 PM EDT reply actions

That DP saved Vasquez’s bacon. Sounds like Pena thought no one was paying attention to him during a rundown between 2B and 3B so he could cruise on over to 2B. Sucks to be you.

by WstCstBucco on Jun 26, 2009 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions

his strikes, so far.....

are just avg. fastballs. He can’t seem to get his other pitches over just yet.

by Krazybuc on Jun 26, 2009 7:32 PM EDT reply actions

oh i just saw a 79mph pitch lol, but it was waaayyy outta the strike zone lol

by lfhlaw on Jun 26, 2009 7:43 PM EDT reply actions

Nice recovery for Vasquez

He settled down a lot in the 3rd — a K and encouraging a pop up out of Guillen.

But his curve ball is so slow it walks up to the plate.

As a Flyers fan

Some don’t like it because they gave up Sbisa (their 1st round pick last year who played much of the season in the NHL and looks solid), this year’s first and next year’s 1st. The Lupul portion isn’t a big deal. Also Pronger could just walk since he’s a FA after this year (I believe) so there is that concern. I mean the first picks hurt, but the Flyers system is in good shape and most of their young guys just came up and are under the team’s control for a while.

the Flyers are essentially out of cap space now, with the addition of Pronger.

At some point, Briere is going to have to be traded. Somehow. Or maybe not – I enjoy watching the Flyers’ cap peril.
