The Word Is Out...
On McCutchen and the entire league now knows that he will swing at almost anything in the dirt, low and away. I am concerned that the league has adjusted to him and that he was not made the necessary modification to his swing to avoid becoming an easy out. Lily has made him look bad tonight as have others this past week and they are all on pitches almost in the dirt and completely out of the strike zone outside of the plate. I realize that both batters and pitchers continue to make adjustments to their game and that it is the successful player who can continue to modify his arsenal as others adjust theirs. I sure hope somebody hips McCutchen on his problem and soon.

yea, big league pitching has caught up to him for now. hopefully he will get adjusted with a little more experience against good pitching. i have a feeling he’s going to come through big in a clutch situation to break out of his slump.

Yes. Yes, that's it.
The entire league has made book on him in what, oh…20 games?
P.S. Lilly has made all sorts of batters swing at bad pitches. It’s what he does.
Free your ass and your mind will follow.

Yeah
he swung and missed a couple offspeed low and away tonight, but from what I’ve seen from him, he makes better contact on pitches out over plate. Where he hasn’t made consistent good contact is the fastballs inside, I think Cutch isn’t feeling comfortable with that pitch right now so the Cubs had a good game plan of busting him in, then making him chase junk away. Again it’s early, and its a learning year for him. I’m sure he and Don Long are aware of these things and will work on them

It doesn’t take too long for scouts to figure out how to pitch to a young player. I bet he’ll figure it out. Baseball is a never ending back and forth of pitcher and batter adjustments.
Anyone remember rookie catcher Carlos Delgado’s insane debut with Toronto before everyone figured out that he couldn’t hit a curve? THAT was Cerrano-esque
RIP NATE. RIP TONY PLUSH
