First day of MLB draft

The first day of the MLB draft has come to a close. Many good players were taken but I don't know if any of them went to the Pirates. I'm not any kind of authority on the subject of prospects or anything but nothing really excited me. Then when I looked at the reactions of the more knowledgeable poster/commenters on BD and saw most were angry it just disappointed me even more. What are your thoughts and/or feelings about the first day? My first reaction is that of disappointment.

None of the picks were bad...

but the 49 and 53 didn’t make up for the reach at #4. Overall, not pissed off but not overly excited like last year.

I think Quarter Pounders qualifies as a bad pick.

Big fat kid who’s locked in as a finesse pitcher? Keerist.

Lol

Like the 200lb girl who is dieing to be a cheerleader.

So you think 25 percent of the country is retarded!? Yea, totally. Atleast 25 percent. Well lets do a sample. There are 4 of us and you're retarded. Thats 25 percent. -South Park; Mystery of the Urinal Deuce.

All four

appear to be significant reaches…especially the first and third rounders. Sure don’t see any overslot contracts going from today’s picks. Nope…they aren’t putting big money out for THIS draft.

I just want to cry.

Just sign Sano and make it all better NH

Need a new category

How about “Have heard of the players we drafted and still disappointed”
You don’t have to be ignorant to be disappointed.
I know a fraction of a fraction of what the Bucco front office knows. However, I’d feel better about this draft if we had:
Zach Wheeler, Poythress, Garret Gould, Wil Myers
All players picked after we picked our guy in each round. And I avoided the super high bonus demand guys……and you could still go out and get Sano.

thats actually how I meant it to look but I didn’t realize I put periods instead of slashes. Thanks.

"How did you feel about the first day bounty?"

Some people wanted to put a bounty on the heads of FC/NH.

Vlad: After reading your comments about Pounders, an image of Charlie Kerfeld keeps popping into my head.

Heh.

The funny thing is that (if I recall correctly), the Charlie Kerfeld of the pros wasn’t anything like the Charlie Kerfeld who got drafted. He was probably sixty pounds lighter back then, and he wore his hair short and tight (at least in his last amateur season, anyway).

All depends

on signing Von Rosenberg,Cain and one more over slot pitcher. It will take about 1.5 m to get Cain and 1 m for Von Rosenberg IMO. If they have 10m then 2.5 for Sanchez close to 1m for Black. Pounders supposedly wants 1m also. That would leave 3m for the rest.
