Some Roster Observations

I looked at the new 25 man roster and observed the following:

1. Only 1 Lefty in the bullpen (Grabow). Time to call up Gorzo?

2. The last 3 pitchers we added are 6-3 or taller. Jackson is 6-5, Morton is 6-4, and Hanrahan is 6-4. Now all the pitchers ar 6' or taller. I guess Snell will never be brought back up.

3. Garrett Jones is 6-4.

One thing you can say is the the team has gotten taller!

Hanran(I know I didn't spell this right)

is pretty good. I didn’t like the deal. Milledge has to be more mature or he is always going to be a bust. I don’t think Burnett was that good and he was good for Hanran

No one goes there anymore, it's too crowded. - Yogi Berra

Doubtful

that Gorzo gets called up to work the ’pen.

Free your ass and your mind will follow.

If a lefty gets called up

itll be Donald Veal or Mike Koplove. Veal is still struggling a little with his control and Koplove had his first bad outing a couple nights ago but has been solid.

We only have a week or so

before Veal has to be called up anyways

Koplove...

would require a 40 man roster move…Veal would not.

plus veal’s 30 day limit in the minors is probably up very soon.

One Other Thought About the Pitchers

I believe our new pitching coach, Coach Kerrigan, is a better judge of raw talent and a better “fixer” of pitching problems – both systemic and for single outings – than either the long-reigning “Spin” Williams or whoever we had before Kerrigan. When we hired Coach Kerrigan, I concluded that we had a commmitment to winning that had been lacking before. His presence is a forgotten story behind all of our trades this year.

Koplove

Last time I checked, Koplove threw right handed.
