Pirates believed to make offer for Sano
Hopefully, it's better received than my offer to Scarlett Johansson.
Comments
No doubt.
Offering Scarlet Johansen a 5 year contract for her exclusive services for $4.25M probably gets you a sock in the jaw and a restraining order.
Context is everything.
So, where'd he go wrong?
Too long of an offer?
Not enough money?
Or the wrong person?

Probably the word “services” is subject to too much confusion? Or it could be the whole “she’s already married” thing.
But I’m guessing. Maybe Charlie has a shot? I’ve heard she’s got a thing for musicians.
Probably not so much for quiet, awkward ones. :)

They’ve been saying it’ll only take a few days.
Backup plan — how bout the new Cuban defector, Aroldis Chapman? I’ve hear he throws 100 mph and is only 21. I’m dreaming right? He’ll probably be a NYY within the week.
NYY and Boston
are the main contenders because he is seeking more than Dice K and (estimated) Strausburg money according to reports
DK tweets Orioles are now the front runner

Well, the Pirates need to find some way to make it happen with Sano. If we don’t sign this kid, there could be a HUGE uproar among fans and some of them may just give up. Fair or not, that’s the reality.
Especially given the fact that we saved a ton of money by going cheap in the first rd. of this year’s draft. Surely, the money that was saved is going towards Sano. Where else would it be going? (In Nutting’s pocket?…Shhhhh).
I anxiously await some kind of dramatic action too, whether that’s with Sano or someone else, but I’d wait until the draft deadline passes to get all conspiratorial about it. The Pirates spent a ton of money on last year’s draft and, depending on who they sign this time, they could well end up spending a ton this year, too.

I think we’re all a bit jumpy on the Sano signing, as it might make or break the rest of the fans left rooting for the Pirates. The fact that other teams are even negotiating with him makes me a nervous wreck.
I mean, if we put in a legitimate effort, and he still doesn’t sign, that’s a different story. But if we come up cheap without even an attempt of beating out a high priced bidder…yeah.
Out of a crowd of say 15,000....
at a Bucs game do you think have even heard of Sano?
Not many
unless the Pirates end up not getting him. Then every single one will no because of the collective scream for Huntington’s and Nutting’s heads from the Yinzer crowds that do know
