Pirates sign Stevenson and Fuesser

The buccos signed their 7th and 34th round selections:

Not too shabby a start...especially with Stevenson.  I think there is more on the way in the next couple of weeks.  I wonder how much ZVR and Cain will ask for?  Who else is on the "big money" radar that we, as die-hards, really want?  Den Dekker?  Heller?  There's been some speculation over on OnlyBucs that this could be a break in the dam and we'll see these trickle out over the next few weeks (culiminating with ZVR and a few others, perhaps).

Great!

I read about Fuesser earlier in the day. Made it much better with Stevenson!

I'm more surprised

Fuesser signed than Stevenson. I thought since Fuesser had another year of eligibility at JUCO he would go back and try to improve his stock.

He sounded like he wanted to turn pro.

Guess they just needed to meet his price.

What about the kid from Iowa?

Dermondy? Is he anywhere near the level of the Stevenson/Cain/ZVR tandem? I know his HS stats were unreal good, but he’s also from Iowa which I can’t imagine is a baseball hotbed.

Much like those other 3

He’s tall and projectable…I think it’s Cain/ZVR and then Stevenson/Dermody if you want to put them in two different categories.

Dermody

The Pirates are just cornering the market on Norwalk High school pitchers. Hanrahan graduated from the same high school.

I hope this may be a start. I would love to see Schoenfeld signed and get the work he needs in the minors, and to see him catch cain, and vrb. get this done bucs.
