Well, the lack of RBI’s can be explained due to him hitting leadoff in Atlanta vs. hitting 3rd in Pittsburgh, which will obviously mean fewer RBI’s there. However, you’re right; the point remains that McLouth’s been, at best, equally good in Atlanta as he was here.
Whereas, in exchange for him, we got Morton, who’s done a fair job for the Pirates this year, albeit an iffy effort tonight, as well as Gorkys hernandez, who’s got definite major league potential. Plus it enabled us to promote Andrew mcCutchen and not have to move anyone to different positions or anything.
So far that trade’s worked out pretty well for the Pirates.
