What is the PBC MLB Budget?

Does anyone know how much money, Bob Nutting could spend on the PBC if and when they become successful? I mean is it somewhere around 60M or is it capped lower?

I suppose Park Attendance could adjust that figure too, but just wondering how deep of pockets Nutting really has. I mean I don't think he's a George Steinbrener moneyman, or say Texas Rangers or Dodgers, but but realistically where should the Pirates Team Payroll be at in the coming years?

Nutting has said

On a few occasions, Nutting and Huntington said they would bump it up to $80 million dollars when it’s time to compete. Nutting has also said it’s not his call on when they’re ready, he will leave that decision up to NH and FC.

Next year the payroll will be 25 million (the lowest in the majors), unless they sign a FA, so I guarantee a few editorials will be written by the Post Gazette.

So my thoughts are really, that payroll in my opinion probably should sit at 55-65M for the team, and then save say maybe the extra 15M in case we need to make a push for the playoffs and take on a larger last year contract.

Unless there’s more money to be had if they needed the extra player.

I would imagine that would be NH's plan

or something like it, not to put all his eggs in that basket right away, then if he has to make a big deadline trade, he can bump it up to that $80M figure that Nutting has used.

In a vacuum, Nutting could have an $80M payroll every year and at least break even. But, thankfully, NH is going to make sure they work their way up to that number by spending wisely.
