Pittsburgh Pirates roster

Star-divide

I have been watching baseball tonight, espn, and espn news almost all day last couple days to hear about the trades. and i dont know about you guys but i am sick of hearing ESPN guys make fun of the pirates. the other day one of them was like this just in...johnny depp and the parrot are on the block....wow ...and then they were like this is there 6th 5 year plan because they cant have anyone for 5 years...i mean honestly the pirates never get talked about which is understandable because we dont win but i mean when hideki matsui hits a walkoff out of yankee stadium where HRs are hit left and right its number one on the top ten but  when brandon moss hits a bomb to dead center at pnc to win it it isn even in top ten which to be honest i dont care just commenting...but what pisses me off is that i want to hear more about what we got back i want hear about these prospects and instead all i hear is jokes..are these guys stupid ...they say well they got rid of bay and nady well....cant win with no pitching and we had nun...did they not realize that DL put us in the shitter...they are like the fans deserve better idk what NH is doing...wow are they dumb?.....the only guy i heard analyze what the bucs were doing and actually have an idea of what it is..and thats buster olney but honestly i really dc about they never talk about the pirates i mean when we start winning then we should get love but instead of making fun of them atleast do your job and analyze the trades ..yeah its going to be 17 seasons in a row but they dont realize that we are going in the right direction....maybe i sound like a dumb kid but i had to get that off my chest lol

Funny you should mention it

I just posted a fanshot of how moronic tim kirkjian is. I literally chuckled aloud when I heard him say the mariners acquired jack wilson to be their starting shortstop for the next 5 years. Yeah, a 31 year old who has missed over a season’s worth of games due to injury in the last 3.5 years is going to be their starter until he’s 36. He has been talking retirement the past few years! While I know its not likely, its still quite a stretch at best

The truth is

they just don’t care. ESPN is profit and endorsement driven just like any other TV station. People aren’t going to tune in to hear about the Pirates when so many people in their own city are fed up.

The analysts that talk about what’s going on with the Pirates are just giving lip-service half the time. They don’t pay attention to the Pirates or what they’re doing. It’s amazing Garrett Jones became a story for them.

If I had to offer some advice with the remaining time left on the trade deadline clock, switch to MLB Network. There are a couple analysts that talk trash on the Pirates, but at least Harold Reynolds respects what they’re trying to do and NH’s plan.

MLB network actually has GM’s and people that know baseball on there.

Really ?

I was ticked off at Harold Reynolds last month when I was watching the MLB Network. He said that all the Pirates need to do is open the wallet to become a better ball club. He went on and on about revenue sharing, as if signing Bobby Abreu would have brought a third championship to the ‘Burgh this year. I have a very poor opinion of main stream media views on the Pirates in general. In fact, I have a very poor opinion about anyone’s views on the Pirates who don’t follow the team closely. Today I was listening to the Buck Martinez XM Radio baseball show today and a caller who stated ahead of time that he was a St. Louis Cardinals fan ( which means he’s the most knowledgeable baseball fan in the world ) who said that the Pirates never get anyone he’s ever heard of in any of their trades since 1993. The team never gets anyone good or on any baseball ranking system. He prattled on about this for a while to the point I considered trying to rip the console of the car and throwing it out in the window in anger. Buck Martinez agreed with him and they moved on. I hate dumb people.

Meanwhile

I’m certain nobody knew who the hell Pujols was when they drafted him in the 13th round in ‘99. People piss me off acting like they know every Major League star from the moment they’re born.

Reynolds has apparently changed his tune. He was saying this afternoon that he at least understood why they were breaking it all down. After losing for so long, it was time to wipe the slate clean and start all over. That was the gist of it, at least.

mlb network

is the place to go if you want any kind of info on the other 28 teams in the league(if you want info all day long about the Yanks and the Sox, espn is for you) . The ex-players on there have the “i only care about whats going on NOW with the big league clubs” mentality. Reynolds goes with what ever the majority does. Last week he was bashing us and this week, with the GM’s and mlb insiders saying they did the right thing, he agreed with them. The actual people that know the BUSINESS of baseball are the ex-GM’s like John Hart ( GM of Indians during their rebuilding) and the insiders they have , like J. Mayo(yinzer yes, but still he knows things the casual fan,or espn for that matter, don’t). Mayo said T.Alderson was the best PROSPECT received out of ALL of the trades made. Hart agreed with what NH is doing and said he knew how much heat he is taking from the fans that don’t understand small market baseball. Also Trenni (spell? treny, trenny) K. from FSNPittsburgh fame is a mediator on there.

The parrot is the mascot homerun derby champ

He could easily bring in at least a B/B- and a PTBNL. Pull the trigger Neil!

I hated the Jack Wilson Crack

On ESPN the other day, one of those stupid baseball tonight analysts said Jack is smiling like he just got out of jail! What a bunch of fucking morons! If they only knew how much Jack loved this town and this team, maybe they wouldn’t be saying trash like that. I bet Jack was tearing up the whole plane ride up to Seattle! I am done with espn! MLB network is way better, even if Herold Reynolds doesn’t know why teams trade for prospects! lol
