Rudy Owens promoted

I'm not really sure why this is happening now. After skipping one of Owens' starts and limiting his last start to three innings, it seems like they are cutting down on his innings. Which, if they are, begs the question why promote when he is only going to get minimal work. I'm not complaining because his promotion was long overdue, I'm just curious as to why it's happening now. Any ideas?

The article pretty much says it best: Lorin. If they needed a spot in the rotation, I guess move Owens up and let him work on whatever he needs to in his limited amount of innings left.
