Pirates at Rockies Overflow Thread August 11th

The Pirates' offense has shown some life today.  The Rockies have looked awful defensively.  Chacin's debut for the Rockies didn't go too well.  Ohlie has pitched well today.  Hope the bullpen doesn't blow it again.  Need filler, so what does everyone think will become of Daniel McCutchen?  Could be a number four or five but doesn't look like he is going to get a chance with Hart, Maholm, Duke, Ohlie, Morton, Lincoln and Alderson.

JR...

playing with dynamite again. Obviously displeased with the bullpen performance recently. What’s the over/under on Ohlie’s pitch count?? I figure he goes 120.

this is 2 games in a row that JR has let the pitcher bat in an inning…then pulled him in the next inning after the first runner reaches. May as well just PH…try and get a run and switch pitchers at the beginning of the inning instead.

purely looking at Ohlie

and not in context of his position in the rotation etc, he could well have had 12 by now (has pitched well enough for maybe 14-15 without run support, but I guess even with a good team, you wont always get run support)…

its promising. I m a little worried about the fact that he’s going past 100 in his outings, and I hope he gets some rest, and that they are extra careful with him this point on- he’s pitched all season, and we want him healthy next season!
