Dunn

Not surpsied to see the big man out of the lineup. He’s look lost against every breaking pitch he’s seen this series.

You build a home from the foundation up, not from the roof down.

If he played for the Pirates...

he’d only play about 50% of the games then. The Pirates tend to bench guys because they supposedly can’t hit a breaking ball.

Bucs 8-0

Maholm pitches a shutout, Milledge hits a HR.

In a pre-game interview that next season he will be looked at as a starter. The man can’t pitch 1 full inning and he’s going to start? Haha.

Not a bad list

Many what a difference from a year and a half ago. I’m not sure I wouldn’t have Locke on that list instead of Morris, being a lefty without the injury history. And of course, the short-term bias is one guy just threw a gem, while the other was suspended for behavior.

The media has been really polarized in regards to our trades. I think they have legitimate points that we may have received a lot of marginal prospects IF they’ve actually watched these guys play. The problem I have is that a lot of them jump to that conclusion without any facts or observations to base it on.

That’s basically just a variation of the criticism that we’re not getting blue chippers back. That’s such a silly argument. None of the guys we had were worth a blue chipper.

I agree, but I think it can also be a valid criticism if the commentator feels that we’re not getting proper value for our players. For example I don’t agree with Keith Law much, but at least he mentioned that he thought Alderson had lost velocity and wasn’t a steal like we thought.

True story: Once, a band that I worked for / was friends with was playing at a club on Broadway street in Santa Monica (now defunct). As we were loading the gear into the van, the keyboard player’s roommate asked where we were playing that night. He was told the name of the club, on Broadway St.

He then asked, “How do you get to Broadway?”

The keyboard player turn to me and smiled the biggest shit-eating grin ever before turning back to his roomie and saying….
