Pirates to shut down Ross Ohlendorf for the rest of the season
Ohlendorf finishes with 169 2/3 innings pitched, an 11-10 record, 4.03 ERA, and 1.25 WHIP. A pretty good first full season for him.
EDIT: Apparently read the article a little too fast. Looks like they'll let him go til he reaches between 170 and 180 innings, so he'll probably make 1 or 2 more starts.

but close. Article says he WILL be shut down…not that he HAS been shut down. Expect he will go next Friday or Saturday at home against the Padres…and that will be it.
Incredible
I’ve heard of guys getting weak support, but the Bucs have scored 6 runs in Ohlie’s 11 losses? That’s mind-boggling.
[I can only assume that this stat refers to runs scored while he’s on the mound – I don’t think Ross has been on the losing end of 5-6 shutouts. But even so, the guy’s been a solid ~6 inning starter, so that represents 6 runs in about 66 innings.]
Ohlendorf's losses:
April 9, 2-1
April 15, 4-1
May 7, 5-2
May 23, 4-0
May 29, 6-1
June 19, 7-3
July 5, 5-0
July 25, 7-0
August 30, 4-1
September 12, 4-2
So it looks like an average of a little over one run per loss, with three shutouts.
