2010: The Gathering?

Maybe it's a bit too early, but what do you think about having a BD Gathering for a game (or games) at PNC next season? Would anyone be interested?

Not as a contest (as suggested by patthatt - although I DO rhink that's a good idea!), but a meeting of the faithful?

The 2010 schedule can be found here, among other places.

I'll post a poll, but please also respond in the comments. If we get enough attendees, we'd probably get a group rate (on game tix & rooms, I should think), and maybe we could even get someone to host something - fer chrissakes, if the PBC Blog can get someone from the FO to show up...

I'd do it

If it coincided with a weekend I’d be home.

by BuccoBrigade on Oct 1, 2009 10:01 AM EDT reply actions

well i’m going to college at case western, so it’d have to be a weekend that i’m home, but if it works out that way then i’d love to.

by Akshay R on Oct 1, 2009 10:06 AM EDT reply actions

I’d go, but I rarely go to weekend games unless they’re during the day. I generally go to weekday games. My band is often playing on weekend nights.

Oh, this actually reminds me of a ridiculous idea I had to find people who want to “split” season tickets. I’ve often thought about doing a big package, but I can never be sure if I’ll make it to a particular game.

I figured if there was a rotation of people in Pittsburgh, it’d be possible….with the added benefit that if we’re someday competitive we’d be able to have playoff tickets.

Sure...

…logistics/schedule permitting.

by Vlad on Oct 1, 2009 10:38 AM EDT reply actions

I'd go for it

The two children of these spawned and fused in a tantric love session to create Troy Polamalu. The mother however died as he tore through the birth canal with a spin move."

Yeah!

I plan on driving to North Carolina to visit my cousin at some point next summer, but I planned to stop in Pittsburgh on the way there for a few games. I guess it’d depend when it’ll be. For me, I can’t go in April, May, early June or September and work permitting from mid July to the end of August.

by IAPiratesFan on Oct 1, 2009 11:06 AM EDT reply actions

I'm in

if I’m still within a reasonable driving distance.

by patthatt on Oct 1, 2009 11:29 AM EDT reply actions

I live like two miles from PNC

So I’d really have no excuse not to.

Although it won't work for everyone

I’m thinking maybe a Saturday night game followed by a Sunday day game?
Of course, we’ll all have to wear nametags, to facilitate bonding/fistfights.

If I’m still in the Pittsburgh area, I’d be interested.

SF

Houksyndrome, we should have a west coast gathering of the faithful as well, I’m always at the Giants-Pirates games anyway.

I thought the title was a reference to Highlander; like we’re dying off by losing our heads until there’s only one Pirates fan left.

Can we bring the Wives?

Every year I make the trek from New Mexico to catch the Bucco’s at least once. I may as well make it re-union day. Can you pick a day when its warm, low chance of rain, before the humidity kicks up,,,,,last week of June maybe?

by GeneClines on Oct 1, 2009 8:27 PM EDT reply actions

Um, probably not the last week in June.

They’ll be in Oakland, Texas and Chicago that week. I was thinking sometime during the two weeks after the All-Star Game when they’re at home.

Lamentably no,

Australia too far away. Will make it one day.
fingers crossed

As long as I’m in the state. I don’t think I’m gonna drive up from South Carolina.

Cfor2: Stay in touch with me about this. Given the amount of interest there might be a way for me to get to town and help you organize.

by Charlie on Oct 2, 2009 6:05 PM EDT reply actions

Will do...

prolly as the winter goes on, I’ll try to firm things up, & we can get together on it. I wouldn’t be able to do it all from Chicago, for sure…

I live in Seattle, but if the schedule works out that would be a lot of fun.
