No walker again?

Ok, say what you want about being tired of me wanting to see Neil play, but is it just me or is everyone else sick of seeing LaRoche start. Why is’nt Neil getitng a chance to show what he can do, and possibly show he can take the starting job for next year? Just seems stupid not to play him, and much like beating a dead horse with starting LaRoche every night.

It's just you.

so you enjoy watching someone hit .240 with NO power, and has absolutely no chance of ever hitting a curveball out of the infield?

by FusilliJerry88 on Sep 8, 2009 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

No,

I’m much more intruiged by LaRoche’s potential than Walker’s.

You need to get used to dissenting opinions, my friend…

by cocktailsfor2 on Sep 8, 2009 7:04 PM EDT up reply actions

hey buddy, are you still intruiged by LaRoches potential over Walkers? Atleast Walker would’ve made that routine play…

(yawn)

Please – don’t project what he WOULD have done…

He is NOT....

getting the starting job next year. Maybe in July if everything were to break right for him and wrong for LaRoche, but it just isn’t happening in April.

by dtoddwin on Sep 8, 2009 6:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree, barring injury/trade

LaRoche will at least be getting the majority of starts in April/May

Everything I'm hearing on radio side...

says that LaRoche should have had at least the ball ARam hit.

by Thunder on Sep 8, 2009 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions

perhaps, if he dove...

but it would’ve still been a single.

I’m watching, and Cedeno barely got to it.

by cocktailsfor2 on Sep 8, 2009 7:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Then...

Blass and Brown are full of crap…because they BOTH said he should have had it…and that it should have been a double play.

by Thunder on Sep 8, 2009 7:29 PM EDT up reply actions

They are estimating...

it was in the hole.

Again, the first 4-5 hits have all been seeing-eye types. Even the WGN teevee guys are sying it.

by cocktailsfor2 on Sep 8, 2009 7:40 PM EDT up reply actions

Sorry to disagree...

I just saw the replay on Lameday…LaRoche HAS to catch that ball. I’m sure he’ll tell you he should have had it.

by Thunder on Sep 8, 2009 7:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Not saying he couldn't have.

But I don’t think it was hit hard enough for him to get up & make the play.

by cocktailsfor2 on Sep 8, 2009 7:41 PM EDT up reply actions

Tails...

LaRoche was never anywhere near the ground.

fair enough.

not worth continuing.

Free your ass and your mind will follow.

by cocktailsfor2 on Sep 8, 2009 7:44 PM EDT up reply actions

However..

on the radio side they also surmised that the ball hit the grass and didn’t take the last hop up like it should have and thus is stayed down and didn’t come up to Andy’s glove like most fielders would have judged it do.

Now… if you have quick cat-like reflexes, you might……make that adjustment, but i’ve seen balls take funny hops before based on the fields so…… i’m more inclined to go with the ball just didn’t come up and slid on the grass portion of the field. (hit a pot hole or something).

Garvey!!

Garvey needed a f******g oar to hit the f*****g ball today (laughter), that’s how f*****g bad he was – their f*****g pitches were. I’ll tell ya, he’d have made a f*****g great f*****g cricket player, hitting the ball on one f*****g bounce. I’ll tell ya, that’s a f*****g crime.

I think so.

I read something about his development a few days ago, and that since Kerrigan completed a two-step process with him, his numbers has improved drastically from earlier in the year.

For my part, though, a sub-4 ERA is fine from Ollie. Anything else is gravy.
