Bay + Beltran + Citi Field = The Perfect Storm?


I'm sure the UZR crowd will figure this one out much better than me, but....

Went over to MLBTR to see if we'd signed any relievers yet. The first "odds and ends" is how Carlos Beltran had his knee scoped and "refrain from baseball activities for twelve weeks..." And I'm thinking that Citi Field has this huge outfield where homers go to die, Jason Bay is getting older and, by definition, just a step or two slower, and his back-up or help is also getting older and a step or two slower, even without surgery....  In the book/movie "The Perfect Storm," I think three separate storm fronts/cells came together to create the worst storm in the North Atlantic in 50/100/whatever years.  Here we have three separate defensive problems coming together which may make a long year for the Mets....
