Free Agents remaining, and who you'd like to see as a Buc

Here is the list from when MLBTR updated their top 50 free agents last. Some of them have since signed contracts. Some, surprisingly, haven't signed yet. I commented below on a few of them who are interesting to me, and a few others who might be interesting to the Pirates, and Pirate fans. Feel free to bring in any others you like!

12. Johnny Damon - Anyone have a guess on where he'd end up? It'd depend on how far the price drops, but I could see the Giants and A's making a play for him.The Braves have also been mentioned.

13. Orlando Hudson - The Mets could be a strong suitor if they trade Castillo. A lot of teams would be interested in a UT IF, but I dont know if Hudson would be interested in that role, and if the asking price would justify it.

14. Miguel Tejada - I can't remember speculation on what his asking price might be, but if its in the $6-10M range, there might be quite a few teams interested- do the Cards have anything left? How about the Astros at $10M per :-) ?.

15. Joel Pineiro - I m guessing he's looking for a $8-10MM kind of contract, maybe 3 years? The Angels should be interested, as might the Mariners if they have money left to spend? The Mets were mentioned by MLBTR as a potential suitor. I like Pineiro and think he would be a solid addition to a rotation, but the money may be slightly more than any time near the edge of its budget would want to spend on him two-year deal.

17. Aroldis Chapman - I m just curious to see where he ends up and for how much. I'd like to see the Pirates stay in touch with his agent, just in case.

21. Adam LaRoche - I m shocked he turned down 2/$17MM from the Giants. In spite of that, he might end up somewhere close to that but not much better. The O's and Giants are all that's left in terms of teams seeking bats, who might be willing to match his asking price.

26. Erik Bedard - Any guesses wrt his asking price? Another case where I'd like to see the Pirates hang around, if only to see what the market is like for him? If fit, and at the right price, he'd be a great player to have for a year (I;d worry about offering him 2, but if that gets him in the $5M range- ok i can dream, but who's his agent- I dont know if I mind terribly). Him and Ben Sheets, for the same reasons.

48. Xavier Nady - "Pirates. The idea of Nady as a regular outfielder seems to be giving teams pause. A return to the Pirates is one scenario where he could play first regularly and the outfield occasionally."-MLBTR. I doubt even the Pirates can give him regular playing time at first or the outfield, at least initially, and think he is likely to end up with the Rangers or even the Giants.

Any other interesting FAs out there, esp pitchers? Dotel has been mentioned a few times, and I think he'd be a good pickup too. The Rays, I think, have Winston Abreu in their AAA system, and he's a guy I d have liked to see us get. Noah Lowry? Kiko Calero? DJ Carrasco?

Just thinking of bench bats made me wonder what Josh Phelps is up to now? Anyone?

All quiet with:

Hank Blalock- With the logjam at 1B, I don't know how we could fit Blalock in even if we got him at a bargain. Maybe swing a deal with the Giants for Blalock or Clement. Not heard anything about Blalock recently, but he's a Boras client.

Rick Ankiel- I don't particularly like Ankiel in our OF. Logjam argument and Boras client apply to him too.

David Dellucci? Ryan Church?
