And Here Are the Pitchers

What will our starting rotation be in 2014?  In 2016?

This picture may be an exact duplicate of a chart that could be in use by someone in the Pirates organization - okay, maybe just a janitor who's a bookie on the side and who wants to know the exact odds of a Pirates loss, but still, its possible.

Player is not arbitration eligible or is under contract.

Player is arbitration eligible or the club has an option.

Player is a free agent.

[i] Estimated MLB service time on the first day of the 2011 season.  Format is Y.DDD; the last three digits are NOT a percentage.  The service time for 1st year MLB players (e.g., Argenis Diaz) are very estimated.

[ii] Number of options remaining on the first day of the 2011 season, where known.

[iii] I’m a casual fan – I’ve pretty much thrown darts when it comes to the starting pitchers.  I also don’t believe in trying to predict either the set-up man or the closer, as these will likely be failed starters or out-of-the blue players until they are established relievers.

[iv] Dodson or Fuesser.

[v] Fortunately for this chart, these two were born within weeks of each other.

[vi] Not sure why, but Baseball-reference.com lists Ohlie as having four arbitration years.
