According to Jon Heyman of Sports Illustrated via Twitter, the Pirates "are aggressive going for players early" in the free agent market.
I do not have a view as to whether this is good or bad. If they have targeted certain guys they like I guess it's good. They can make their best offer and move along if it isn't accepted. It will be interesting to see if anything happens this week. Could be a big week if they settle on a manager as well.
