Around SBN: All Hail David Luiz

Interesting stuff here. Moskos talks specifically about a number of aspects of his development, particularly the psychological end of the game. Also, he explains why he bombed in AAA.

that was a pretty good read

(FWIW, I’m not a subscriber and I was able to read the interview just now.)

I got the sense that he’ll do well in AAA next time around, and that he’ll thrive as the prototypical stopper in the Pirates’ bullpen someday soon.

nice interview

i was able to see it to without a sub too.

moskos is a well spoken guy and he makes it easy to root for him. i could already see him as a coach when his playing days are over.

Yes

He talks pretty good considering he went to Clemson.

Good interview.

I’ll probably always cringe a little when I see his name, but he seems like a decent enough kid, and there were some interesting insights into his process in there.

yea it was a good one

I was intrigued by his descriptions of how specific his preparations get; swing planes, etc.

This really reinforces my desire to go to spring training/minor league games some day and interview/chat with any players who will give me the time about their process of learning the game. I’m a professional musician, and I’ve noticed that thee are lot of similarities between being a professional ball player (more so than other sports) and being a musician. I’d be curious to see what I learned about my own profession and how to do it better.

Also, I hope Moskos makes it, against seemingly all odds.

Redeemed.

I would love to see more of this kind of technical stuff enter the discourse. It’s a lot more informative than the interchangeable postgame quotes, y’know?
