Just a quick story to give a thank you to Neil Walker, and to point out how baseball players are people (some of them great) too. My brother was a volunteer Firefighter who had an accident on the way to a firecall leaving him paralyzed from the chest down about 4 months ago. He has been in AGH ever since recovering, and out of nowhere today, Neil Walker stopped by the hospital with some hats, etc...but more importanty words of encouragement and sincere concern for my brothers recovery.
This isn't something he had to do, or that anyone close to my family asked for, but it means more than we could express to him. With all of the different ways we have to evaluate players these days, sometimes the type of person they are gets lost, and just wanted to put this out there and share with the community.
