Cross Off Mark Reynolds

It had been raised in another FanPost that buying low on Reynolds might be a good use of some spare relief pitcher parts but that option is off of the table now too since he has been flipped to the Orioles this afternoon for a pair of interesting upside but largely untested relief pitcher prospects.

Its too bad that we didn't actually get in on this bidding, Reynolds is signed to a reasonable deal through 2012 with a team option for 2013 so his prime years would have been under contract and he has already proven to be a multiple WAR player.  Worst of all, it appears that an offer in line with Chris Resop and Daniel Moskos may have been enough to get our foot in the door without even offering Evan Meek.

I don't want to sound too dour about the entire thing but I can't help but think that this was a slightly missed opportunity.
