The small contingent here who were pulling for Pena as the answer to our 1B woes are going to be disappointed. Rosenthal reports that Pena is going to the Cubbies, 1 yr/ 10 million.
From the Cubs point of view, I suppose it's not an awful move. If Pena bounces back he'll be well-worth it. It's pretty pricy, but the Cubs are rich enough to spend stupidly.
Personally I'm pleased to see this, because I'm of the opinion that Pena's not going to replicate his prior success, and I strongly dislike the Cubs. I'm looking forward to watching McDonald lay him out with that killer curve.
