He's completely delusional, of course, but who here doesn't want to high-five him anyway?

Half naive, half optimistic… the pirates are on the right track, but aren’t there yet barring a miraculous scenario where everyone reaches close to their peak potential this year and they contend to make the playoffs.

Ump: Lou, don't you know that you're not supposed to end a sentence with a preposition?

You know,

as absurd as they sound, I’d much rather have Connelly talking about a dynasty and Dotel talking about winning pennants than guys in the clubhouse greetings newcomers with “Welcome to hell,” wouldn’t you?

Maybe it's our turn?

It seems like nearly every season some team has all the stars and planets align for them and most/all their players play to, or above, their potential, a couple guys have career years, they have a really good season and sometimes even slip into the playoffs. Maybe it’s the Pirates turn. Do I think this is likely? No, but it is possible.

It was our turn about a decade ago.

We’re really over due for a huge dosage of good luck here.
