A bunch of small stories via MLBTR while we wait for the Bucs to take on the Manatees:
- John Van Benschoten signed with the Yankees. JVB put up a 6.35 ERA in AAA with the White Sox last year. (via BA)
- BA also reports we signed Jack Taschner, which actually happened back in December. Taschner shares the distinction with new teammate Jason Jaramillo of having been traded for Ronny Paulino.
- Brad Eldred signed with the Rockies.
- The Bucs apparently at one point offered 2/3 of the '27 Yankees outfield (Nate McLouth and Xavier Nady) to the Padres for a deal centered around Chase Headley. Too bad Dave Littlefield doesn't work for the Pads. (via mlb.com)
