The Pirates picked up Hayden Penn off waivers early in the season and he flamed out in horrific fashion in MLB, contributing to the Pirates ridiculously high ERA the first month of the season. They designated him for assignment and, to no one's surprise, he wasn't claimed and they were able to assign him to AAA Indianapolis. After extended spring training, they announced they were giving him a try at starter.
Huntington picked him up for his "promising stuff" and so far he has a 3.27 ERA with Indy, including the outing of 2 runs in 5 innings here. I've edited the first 4 innings down to less than 15 minutes so you can see how he did.
Gives us your impressions of his potential. Could he help the Pirates in PIttsburgh later this year or compete for a starting spot next spring?
(Again the Toledo feed came in without sound. I guess they don't need no stinking sound in Toledo.)
