Pirates Activate Brendan Donnelly, Place Jack Taschner on DL
Jack Taschner hits the DL with a very convenient "tight left hamstring," as Brendan Donnelly returns from his own DL stint. Taschner hadn't been used much recently and hadn't been effective when he did pitch--he allowed four runs on Monday and hadn't struck out a batter for almost two weeks. Donnelly was off to a poor start this season before getting hurt, but he'll hopefully be an upgrade on Taschner anyway. After all the talk over the past week or so about how great the Meek-Hanrahan-Dotel troika has been, Donnelly will surely move into a lower-leverage role. Brian Burres and Jeff Karstens will remain with the team for now.

MLB.tv
this is probably not the best place, but it seems a waste to create a fanpost for it, so I’ll ask it here… I am in California in the Bay Area, and am thinking of taking MLB.tv for the summer while I’ll be here, so I can watch the Pirate games without the blackout crap… Are there any caveats to it that I should be aware of? Any trouble with getting Pirate games here?
The only games blacked out will be the Giants games. I love MLB.tv except for the few blackout issues.

yeah a “very VERY convenient” tight hammy. What they need to do is send Morton down, im tired of seeing him out there on the hill every fifth day, he currently brings nothing to this team IMO until he pitchers better…which might be never with the way he is going now. Anyways, glad to have Brendan Donnelly back.
One question: Why not start Karstens tonight? Wouldnt that allow us to have Maholm, Ohlie, and Duke for a series against the Braves? If we squeek out a win with Karstens tonight we send our top 3 out there over the weekend. I think that would have been a good choice.
That isn't going to happen
you used logic when you proposed that, we all know JR doesn’t use logic

where was the
recap of the game last night charlie?
I had to sent several long emails and didn’t have time to write one. I won’t always. It’s just really tiring to do it every night. Sorry.
