Jack Wilson Wonders Whether Career Might End Soon
Jack Wilson has been injured a good portion of the time since being traded to Seattle. It looks like he may be coming to the realization that "I just have bad hamstrings".

Hah
“yet another setback of the sort that has plagued him since being acquired in a trade with Pittsburgh last July 29.”
As we all know, it started well before that.
for those 10 million reasons
i bet he wont!

I Hope He recovers
I’d hate to see him retire at this point. He played to well (defensively at least) to go out like this.
This^^^
better a year too soon than a year too late, as they say, even if we were a year late. Imagine the M’s trying to get anywhere near the haul we did for him, and I say that knowing Clement has sucked. I see Snell has been about average, which is maybe the best anyone can hope for out of him these days.
Better a year too late
When you are making $10M.
Heh.
I saw that the Mariners are likely going to non-tender Snell after this season, so it’s really turning into a ridiculously good trade. Adcock alone would make the trade worth it, and that’s if Clement and company never become more than replacement-level.
Hey, an out is an out - unless you're Mario, in which case it's probably two outs. -UtesFan89
Hard work always beats talent if talent doesn't work hard.
Never a good sign for a guy's career...
…when he starts talking about retirement. Maybe he’s just depressed with the injuries.
Feel better, Jack.
injuries are hard to com eback from
Jack is a good player, consistent with some very good stretches. but injuries especially prolonged are hard to recover from.
Look at some of the elite players who have trouble rebounding, and when they are young.
Reyes
It’s astonishing how hard hamstring injuries are to deal with. It’s actually all the more astonishing that Jose Reyes has had healthy Hammies (knock wood) for I think a few years now after the incredible problems he had with them in his (very) early 20s. I remember him going to get crazy ultrasound therapy (or something) to try to break up the scar tissue.
I can’t imagine a guy in his 30s being able to heal (long term) from that. Which is why Jack sounds so down.
Should have hung onto him!!!
Just kidding…by the way, correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Snell, a few weeks after being traded, whine about how good the Yankees lineup was and how tough it was to face them? I think you could already call this deal and the McLouth deal (well, maybe not yet with the latter) a win, even though its still very early for both.
