10 days, 10 games

The Buccos have 10 games in the next 10 days before they get themselves an offday. I would not point to this stretch in season unless I thought it extremely important.

The next 4 games are in Cincinnatti and we remember what happened the last time the Pirates played the Reds. The Reds are currently in 1st Place in the NL Central and then would be a great time to bounce back from a horrible series against them two weeks ago and to gain some ground in the divison. If we could get 3 of 4 or sweep it would be a satisfying feeling.

Then 3 games in Atlanta. The Braves have some pop in that lineup and we got the win today despite them looking good the first two games of the series. Its no small task going to Turner field and winning some games against a strong opponent such as the Braves.

The final 3 games are back at home against the Cubs. So far this year we have beaten up on the Cubbies but this will be a good chance to climb in the division standings once again. This is a chance for us to turn this season around and get real close to .500 with some solid baseball.

I look at it this way, win 3 of 4, 2 of 3 and 2 of 3 were 26-28 on the year, very respectable for the Pirates. This was a long stretch of games without an offday and it would be pleasing to end it nicely with a 7-3 record. Also this next 10 game stretch takes us into June, which means will all be tuned in even closer to see when Walker, Tabata, Lincoln, and Alvarez come up to the bigs. It would be very nice if they came up to a team that had some steam rolling in the right direction!
