Some random thoughts:
Ronnny Cedeno: Can this guy play SS at all? He made two bad throws today plus now he is hitting only .234/.274/.338/.810. He has made 5 errors and many poor throws. I can't wait until June to see what the front office does. Will we see Walker at SS? Maybe Argenis Diaz comes up to give us some defense. Our pitchers deserve some better defense at 2B and SS.
Steve Pearce: Is Pearce now looking like he might be coming alive with the glove and the bat? He is 5 for his last 10 with 6 RBIs, 4 Walks, and 2 KOs. His splits are Left: .204, Right: .273. If he can provide some punch from the right side, we may have a found ourselves a firstbaseman for a few years. Or at least a left/right platoon with Jones/Clement. I am starting to warm up to Pearce.
Last Year vs.This Year: Last year at this time the Bucs were 19 and 24 . Right now they are 19 and 25-basically the same. Why do I like this team better? Is it because they seem to have more heart? Games like today's were games we were losing before. Now we seem to only win the close games.
Do I like this team because of the players we will see starting in June will show us that the future has/will come? If this team could find a way to play .500 ball and break the streak, it would be great.
