Not really Pirates related, but I know some people around here were interested in trying to trade for him over the last couple years.  I saw that Brandon Wood is going on the DL today, so I decided to check and see how he did this year and I was amazed and had to post.  Turns out he makes Aki and Clement look like successes at the plate this year, but was still getting regular ABs at third for the Angels.  I guess $104 million isn't enough to find a third baseman these days.  The numbers:

39 Games/35 Starts  128 plate appearances  122 ABs

16 singles, 1 double, 2 HRs, 8 runs, 7 RBI, 1 SB

.156/.168/.213  .381 OPS (3 OPS+)  .172 wOBA (-5 wRC+)

36 strikeouts (29.5%) 2 walks (1.6%)

I used to think this guy was one of the best prospects ever.  What happened?  Man am I glad I didn't take this guy in the late rounds of my fantasy draft.  I came pretty close, but took David Freese instead.
