The Pirates placed Charlie Morton on the DL and called up Steven Jackson.  No need to discuss the difficulties that Morton has had, which are well documented. But one of two things seems to be clear.  Either this is a move made because Morton is having an historically bad season and this gives him a break without actually sending him to the minors, or Morton really does have shoulder fatigue, as the Pirates claim.  

If the answer is shoulder fatigue, what were the Pirates doing sending him out there the last four starts?  Even though they were his best starts of the season, that's ridiculous. John Russell's comments suggest this has been on-going.
