Nowadays players move on to several different teams as the years pass. The Chipper Jones and Derek Jeters of the world are slowly fading as players go for the money and championships rather than team loyalty and dispare. The Pirates will soon hopefully be a team on the rise but its unclear how high the team payroll will go and who will be kept and who well be sent packing. A few main stays over the past few years are soon to be on their way out, Doumit, Maholm, Duke. So I wanted to hear some opinions on who, of the current roster, would you most like to see stay a Bucco for his entire career.
Andrew McCutchen - Since being called up he has been one of the most productive if not the most productive Pirate and is easily the most recognizable name to a casual Pirate fan. He seems to do it all, hit for average, power, baserunning and fielding
Jose Tabata - The guy just seems to love to play the game. He could not stop smiling when he first got called up in that interview he had. He plays the game hard like Cutch and I wouldnt mind seeing him stay a Pirate for years to come.
Neil Walker - The Pride of PineRichland. As a hometown kid of course he has to be a fan favorite as long as he is producing, but that goes along with everyone. Seems like he can be a staple for years at 2B and maybe one day he would even take a home town discount to stick around.
Pedro Alvarez - Most hype of a prospect weve seen in a long time. Power potential and could be a perrenial all-star, of course his price tag may get a little high but he may be well worth the asking price down the road.
Now Im assuming all of these players reach their full potential or close to it in the coming years and none of which get a major injury that causes their career to go down hill and such. If I had to take one Im taking Andrew McCutchen.
