Yahoo! Sports and ESPN.com are reporting on their home pages that the Florida Marlins have fired manager Fredi Gonzalez, and two other coaches were let go as well. This is pretty interesting timing for the Pirates (although my day has been consumed by World Cup action) who just extended manager John Russell's contract, but also noted they are not afraid to eat a contract. In addition to that is all the talk we have seen regarding poor play fundamentally in the field and on the bases. It is assumed that with a change comes a change in focus.
