Most of you will probably find this pretty irrelevant but I just saw on SportsCenter today that Brad Eldred is alive and well. He is playing for the Colorado Rockies. Last night he actually went 2-for-4 with a 2-run-home-run and five total bases. After further research I discovered that it was his first homer as a Rockie this year, he was recently recalled to replace the injured Todd Helton. He has now played in 3 games this season, and he is hitting .555. This is Big Country's first return to the big leagues since he struggled in 19 games for the Pirates in 2007. Congratulations to Brad and his family, he's a good guy and its nice to see that he gets to returm to the big leagues a couple of days before his birthday (7/12/1980)
