Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

An Interesting Sales Strategy

I usually buy my Bucs tickets the day of the game, so I'm not too familiar with the different ticket packages they offer, but maybe some of you are familiar with the Smart Circle Card.  For $40 you can get vouchers for four free game tickets, anywhere up to the $26 seats, as well as seven Buy One Get One Free Vouchers.

Anyway, I was grabbing lunch today near my house, when a younger kid (I don't know if he works for Smart Circle or is a Bucs intern or whatever) stopped me and asked if I was interested in buying one of these cards.  As the season is winding down, the price has been knocked down to $25.  So I bought one.

Anyway, it was just bizarre seeing a kid walk up and down Liberty Ave. in Bloomfield stopping random pedestrians and asking if they're interested in Pirates tickets.  Never seen anything like it.

Oh, and it is a good deal, of course.  You just bring the vouchers to the ticket window the day of the game.  They are valid for any game except for the 8/7 game that's followed by the George Thorogood concert.  The kid left his cellphone # on the back of the card, so if anyone's interested, let me know and I'll pass it along to you.

to this. I went to the July 3rd Phillies game (Pedro’s first HR). It was sold out a week ahead of time but I got a ticket for 7$ (granted they were nosebleed seats) on stubhub the night before. The next day as we walked to the game about an hour before my friend looked up tickets on his phone. The tickets next to us (which stayed empty) were 2.50$ and seats behind home plate were 25$.

Next game I go to I’m buying tickets a few hours before the game on stubhub. Incredibly cheap. For those who don’t know you just print a ticket out that has the barcode and the guns at the gates accept them.

I burned two tickets to that game

Had a friend coming in from Philly that flaked out at the last minute. By the time I got to the park it was game time.

Shhhh

Now people are going to steal my cheap tickets.

StubHub is terrible, they all scam you, I never receive my tickets in time for a game.

I split season tickets but..

didnt have them for alvarez’s first game so i got them on stub hub for that game, a few hours before the game i was able to get seats in section 14 (right behind first base dugout) for 15 dollars apiece. I’ve also seen home plate club seats on there for 60 dollars, while they have a face value of at least 150 i think

StubHub?

Sounds interesting….I’ll tell EVERYONE I know about it. Thanks for the advice.

Here is a better strategy

Seller: Hey I have 2 Pirate tickets for less than their face value, would you like to buy them?

Customer: NO

Seller: But it’s(name a promo) night !!!

Customer: NO

Seller: It’s a nice Park with a great view…fireworks too!

Customer: I can go to Mount Washington for a better view or visit many other nice parks..and watch the fireworks

Seller: Here, just take’em..for free..free!

Customer: NO !

I don't like Pink Floyd

I just think their music kinda sucks. Some of you may like them, and that’s your prerogative, but they just don’t do it for me.

So, now I’m gonna spend all day on Pink Floyd message boards and let all the Pink Floyd fans know how much I think Pink Floyd sucks. That seems like it’s fun and not a complete waste of my time.

and...

I was a Pink Floyd fan since I was young. They are the only major rock group in town but they have been terrible for a long time. I’m indifferent to the out of town bands so from time to time I check to see how they(PF) are doing. They still suck..and it there is no disputing that, yet I read from fans that still support them how they are going to be better. They listen to every sour note, are frustrated, yet keep going back for more. Go figure?

I know!

Nutting. He pushed Pete out of the boat because he refused to pay for the gas it would cost to transport both of them

The glare of the spotlight is harsh, and the pressure that success breeds immense. We revere our heroes, but expect much. And criticism can come as easily as praise.

The Packet

I baught this packet in the begining of the season for 35 dollars. IMO its like having season tickets but better, because you can pick and choose any game to goto when ever you want (excluding concerts). For 35 bucs, I got 4 free tickets, and 8 buy one get one free tickets. They are good for only certain sections, but they are good for the 26$ baseline box seats, and i routinly sit right on the line, right on the field for buy one get one free, or just free all together. If you use the 4 buy one get ones on the 26$ baseline box seats thats a 104 dollar value right there. deffinitly worth it. I recommend if you get a chance to buy the card next year do it. Also if somehow they turn this thing around, that packet could be worth some decent money in a winning season.
