So first a little background about me. I'm a Cards fan that grew up in Western Pennsylvania. Mercer county to be more precise. Anyhow as a kid I was a Big Mac fan, so the Athletics we're my team. He got traded to the Cards I started rooting for them, and when he retired I kind of just kept cheering for them. And thats how the Cards became my favorite baseball team.

Anyhow I still have a soft spot for the Pirates, and root for them when there not playing St. Louis. Which leads to my question. I've noticed around the web,specifically  on Bucs Dugout, The P-G website, and mlbtraderumors, that(some) Pirates fans want the team to open there books. Who's dumbass idea was that? It's never gonna happen. Anyhow if anyone could give me a brief rundown on how this got started it would be appreciated.
