So I got to thinking this morning and was wondering what the Pirates could do down the stretch here to improve upon this season. Maybe I'll just throw some of these questions out there instead to everyone.
1) Chances that we use Charlie Morton in a late inning relief role? A head case for sure, and does not seemed poised to be able to come in the game during the "high pressure" situations with guys on base but we all agree he has the "stuff" to be a good pitcher. Maybe things work out for him if he only is out there for an inning at a time?
2) The Pirates have yet to sign Taillon or Allie. Both appear to be tough signs and I would assume would both take up valueable negotiating time. I'm starting to think we may only sign one and not the other. What does everyone think, personally, i would rather sign Taillon?
3) Should we give Jeff Clement some starts at 1B and have him split time with GFJ orrrr should GFJ split time with Milledge out there in RF? Since being recalled Clement has been good off the bench, it would be nice to get him so extra ABs.
4) Where do you think Starling Marte and Tony Sanchez start at opening day 2011? I think both should be at AA come April next year but both had injuries this year and set them back on there progression to the bigs. It also looks like these two guys could be apart of the next "wave" of highly anticipated position players to come through the system and now they should be playing on the same team together...a la Alvarez, Tabata, Walker?
