To: Members of St. Clemente’s Orthodox Church
Let’s begin with introductions. This is my 2nd year attending services at this church, though I was baptized in 1979 during the “We are family” revival period. I actually grew up in the hoIy land, and loved the Pirates more than the, Shhhhh, Steelers. I mention the longevity of my attendance at this church site, so you know I’m one of you, well sort of.
Earlier this year, in April, I had a vision that the Pirates would not win more than 50 games this year, and I stated this vision on the Church bulletin. I want to say I was wrong. The vision was clouded. They are at 49 wins with 15 games left. Most likely they will get to 54-55 wins.
To the congregation of believers, please keep the faith. These are the dark days, and I’m confident St. Clemente will send someone to lead us to the playoffs. But it’s not the current leader of our church, Pope Nutting. He picks and pays too few strong players to impact the team enough to win more than 65 games next year.
I am growing old, and maybe out of desperation, I write this, for I know too soon I will be spending my last days in heaven, “Bradenton, Fl.” We need to seek new leadership, before the streak gets to 20 years.
God bless, Huntingteacher, the prophet.
