Around SBN: Now They've Screwed Spurs, UEFA Willing To Review Rule

With Indy's season over, the callups come in full force. Alex Presley, Brandon Moss, Pedro Ciriaco, Jason Jaramillo, Brad Lincoln, Justin Thomas, Brian Bass, and Steven Jackson are all called up.

Ross Ohlendorf and Jeff Clement go to the 60-day DL, and Erik Kratz and Akinori Iwamura have been DFAed. Why did I think Aki was already off the 40-man roster?

No...

Aki was optioned to Indy…he hadn’t had any options used since coming over from Japan.

I’m guessing they may already have a handshake agreement to resign Kratz as a minor league free agent.

I hope so

on Kratz. Vlad liked him before he came up, and what I saw agreed with that. I was puzzled to see him DFA’d, and came over here to see what people thought.

I guess JJ is younger, but I"m not at all convinced that he’s more valuable – what bat he has seems to have vanished, and his defense is far from stellar.

I wouldn’t resign here if they preferred Jaramillo, who’s bad, and since they added Chris Snyder, who has been poor both at the plate and behind it since being traded here (although picking him up was defensible at the time).

Someone in one of the game-threads called him Akinori Snyder, which so far is appropriate (although going forward remains to be seen still). But if he continues at this rate, I’d just name Doumit starting catcher next year and keep Snyder as the backup.

And of course...

we STILL don’t have a bench corner IF/OF that can hit LHP other than Milledge and Pearce. Presley and Moss join Jones, Bowker, etc. as LH bats.

Presley!

I doubt he’ll play much, but I’m glad to see him in the bigs nonetheless.

Not much else to note, except Moss and Lincoln.

Hey, an out is an out - unless you're Mario, in which case it's probably two outs. -UtesFan89
