Pirates, Joel Hanrahan Agree To Deal

The Pirates avoided arbitration with Joel Hanrahan by signing him to a one-year, $1.4 million deal. Nothing, really, to see here - just a first-year arbitration salary for a good player. The Bucs also signed catcher Wyatt Toregas to a minor-league deal. Toregas played for the Indians' AAA team in Columbus last year, and he's a pretty standard, no-hit minor-league catching veteran. He's no one to worry about, unless you're Dusty Brown and you're concerned about getting 100 Class AAA at bats instead of 150.
