Hey everyone, sorry I haven't posted in a while! Anyway, I wanted to know if some of these trades are reasonable and tell me what you think. Here we go:
Although the White Sox have added Jesse Crain and Will Ohman, they still remain without a closer. The Sox make Garcia expendable with a solid rotation of: John Danks, Gavin Floyd, Edwin Jackson, Mark Buehrle, and Jake Peavy. Jake Peavy might not be ready by Spring Training, so they would have to move Chris Sale into the Rotation if they acquire a reliever or get a swingman/spot starter. The Pirates get a solid #3 or #4 guy in the rotation.
Paul Maholm, Gorkys Hernandez, Austin McClune, Brad Chulk, and Evan Meek/Joel Hanrahan to the Yankees for Brandon Laird/Eduardo Nunez, Reegie Corona, and Ivan Nova/Andrew Brackman. The Yankees get a consistent set up man and a above- average #4 starter with a guy who needs a fresh start in Hernandez. They also get depth with McClune and Chulk. The Pirates get a third baseman/ right fielder who could be a starter in either one or a exceptional shortstop in Nunez. They also get a second baseman in Corona and both Brackman and Nova are rotation options.
Jared Hughes, Jim negrych, Phillip Irwin, and Jordy Mercer to the Reds for Edison Volquez and Jose Arredondo. The pirates take a chance on volquez and the Reds get some nice prospects in Irwin and Hughes.
