Around SBN: Yankees Deny Rumors That Team Is For Sale

Hamate. Typical bad news.

UPDATE by Charlie: Yeah, this is unfortunate. Grossman made great strides this year, and it now looks like it might be tough for him to take advantage of them. He should be ready to play by Opening Day, but sometimes it takes hitters awhile to recover their timing and especially their power after a hamate injury. Maybe Grossman will be able to return without missing a beat; maybe he won't.

Shocking

A Pirates player on the rise has an injury? Unheard of!

by BurgherKing on Nov 11, 2011 10:54 PM EST reply actions

Geez poor kid. If he loses his growing power for a bit, let’s hope he can still have patience at that plate and improve on his defense. If anything, this may help him to be a better player as pitchers may challenge him more. Just a thought.

If he’s going to break it, November is as good a time as any, except maybe October. Got 3+ months to heal before spring training.

Someone in the organization must have broken a glass on a black cat under a ladder. Geez …

Grossman In The AFL

I saw him play two weeks ago in the AFL. If he ever makes it to the big leagues, he will be a 4th outfielder … at best.

I'd be interested in hearing more details

Could you give a more thorough report, please?

What a comprehensive analysis

of your expert opinion based on, what, a 2 game look at the most productive hitter in the AFL? I saw Grossman put up an oh-fer in the AFL All Star game. Clearly he’s worthless…

If you’re going to say something incendiary like that, please don’t do it without a thorough explanation.

If it wasn't for horrible, soul-crushing bad luck,

the Pirates would have no luck at all.

It's just my two cents. Could be worth more, could be worth nothing.

Calm down, people

It’s a hamate bone, he’ll be fine. Reading the comments here, you’d think the guy was paralyzed from the waist down.
