The L.A. Times' Bill Shaikin tweets that the Pirates beat the Angels to the punch on Rod Barajas.
Heard that #Angels called to express interest in Rod Barajas after he had committed to Pirates.
It's hard to gloat too much when the loser wins 86 games and the winner gets Rod Barajas, but nice job by Neal Huntington of getting out of front of the free agent market. I wonder if Barajas thinks he should have waited another day or two.
