Realistic and sensible FA's

The pirates have some glaring holes in there roster. There will be NO Jose Reyes ,  prince fielder or pujols , most of us realize this. I was looking at the list of FA 's of teams in the paper today and there is no easy ways  to upgrade the pirates roster, but  These are realistic options in my opinion.

SS:  I personally prefer Alex Gonzalez, although he has been known to frustrate managers. Good defense and adds power. Doesn't walk a whole lot and average lacks. I am personally not a big Barmes fan but he is a decent option. I just think Alex G would be a better choice. I also like Jamey carrol more then Barmes.

1st :   Derek Lee all the way. Even if his offense isnt like the 2nd half of last year his defense seemed good and we could use a solid glove there, and you could even platoon him 70-30 with The Legend.  If Lee won't resign I say FREE Matt Hague . Why not? Better then signing another Lyle.

Catcher: Not many intriguing options I would try Snyder for 1 more year  incentive contract , we really need Tony Sanchez  to have a good year and force a call up.

Bench/ 3rd:  I have a thing for Greg dobbs I would take him for bench/ some 3rd base.

Starting pitching: I still think J Mac is going to take another step forward, karstens still should be decent, Lincoln should take another step forward, and Charlie Morton should have his new style down, although his injury complicates things. Kevin correia just sucks.   Offer ohly a minor league deal, put him in AAA  as insurance.  Jason marquis on a one year deal might  be ok. I think Arron Cooke is interesting. Jeff Francis is an idea  and also Rich Harden. I always liked Brad Penny

All in all I think  pretty depressing but getting Gonzalez at short Derek lee at 1st Snyder back at Catcher and one of the starting FA pitchers might give us a shot at .500 next year, or atleast respectability. And personally that's all I want for next year.

Disclaimer: I didn't look up wether any of these FA's costed draft picks
