After the Mat Latos to the Reds trade, the Padres are in almost the same boat as the Reds were. Now they have Yonder Alonso and Anthony Rizzo at 1B. Not to mention Kyle Blanks and Jesus Guzman aren't that bad.

According to MLB Trade Rumors.com, the Padres are thinking Alonso is a 1B and not going to be in the outfield. The Padres GM says they aren't averse to trading out of their surplus. I say NH gets them on the phone and makes an offer for Rizzo. Or a smaller one for Blanks or Guzman. But who do you offer for Rizzo? I would offer Allie and an outfielder like Gorkys. They aren't going to be good for a couple years and they can wait for Allie. You could plug Rizzo in for the next ten years at 1B. The Padres are going to have him sit in AAA.

If you trade for Guzman or Blanks, they could probably get it done for a mid level prospect, like a Justin Wilson or someone like that. Blanks is a power hitter and he's only 25. Guzman is 27 and he did hit .312 last year.

I would love to add Rizzo to the team, the other two are intriguing to take a chance on.
