Prospects Falling

Epoz epic fanposts on the top prospects have been the best since baseball season ended. Epoz is doing a fantastic job of covering the Pirates farm system. I read this on Bob Smizik blog. Tim Williams of PiratesProspects.com is out with his, and it’s almost identical to Epoz. He is in the business of providing information to the public knows the Pirates system as well as Williams. In inverse order, here’s his top 10. 10. Nick Kingham; 9. Kyle McPherson; 8. Stetson Allie; 7. Tony Sanchez; 6. Robbie Grossman; 5. Luis Heredia; 4. Josh Bell; 3. Starling Marte; 2. Jameson Taillon; 1. Gerrit Cole. Now here are five prospects that were in the top 10 last year and where Tim Williams has them slotted today. They are Bryan Morris, 6 to 19; Rudy Owens, 7 to 13; Jeff Locke, 8 to 11; Zack Von Rosenberg, 9 to 16; Colton Cain 10 to 12. Are Tim Alderson acquired in the Freddy Sanchez trade and Kevin Hart acquired in the Jon Grabow trade worth a bag of baseballs. Please comment on his bottom five prospects. Acquired in the Jason Bay trade, Bryan Morris was the most overhyped prospect ever. He is now in the bullpen. Locke and Cain can throw 100 mph and seemed destined to the bullpen. Are they all bullpen pitchers, potential starters, of enough value to package in a future trade?
