hey now, this is a fascinating article about the potential steal
Nick Evans.

Now i realize that a line of 256/314/403 isnt the sexiest triple slash in the world for a 1B, BUT it is better than we got last year. When you factor in the defensive value that Evans potentially brings, AND the fact that he's turning just 26 this year, Evans to me seems like a very good option to be your every day starter at 1B. I'd rather see Evans there than some veteran on a one year contract. I think
Garrett Jones could start some games against RH fastball pitchers but other than that, give me Nick Evans! I think he could put up at least 2 WAR over an entire season, and like the article says his defensive skill isnt even truly reflected in stats like that.
Other than a trade for a young stud 1B, Nick Evans is probably the best option out there. I hope it proves to be one of Huntingtons best moves. Dont understand how the mets just let someone like that go either
